Here are the rules for 2v2 format rules;
- Typical Standard format
- Players in the same team may not play the same primary attacker/ Archetype (e.g. if you play pultnoir, your teammate cannot play dragapult OR dusknoir!)
Memebrs must use different card sleeves to their partner.
Turns pan out the same except the following:
- Static abilities affect only that 1 player (e.g. meganium doubles grass for that player) EXCEPT Bench protection (shaymin, TR Articuno, Rabsca, psyduck, patrat) affect the team!
- Once per turn abilities only affect that player (e.g. lunar cycle can only be used by that player)
- Supporters are pooled! a team can use 2 supporters a turn and can chose if the full effect of the card is for player A or B.
- Only 1 stadium in play between 4 players, and each player may put 1 into play per turn
- Tool cards may be attached to either your pokemon or your teammates pokemon! (still 1 tool card per pokemon, and goes to owner's discard pile)
- You may choose who to attack (both players in a team must be ready to attack before declaring attacks & may choose who attacks first)
- If an attack has an effect, it can affect both players depending on wording (e.g. comfey's flower shower everyone draws 3 cards , wheras budew affects the player you attack). If the wording is like 'your opponents active is confused' it affects the same pokemon you attack, if it's 'your opponents pokemon'/ 'your opponent' that can be either opponent/ both opponents. In general, if it's too good to be true it is!
- If a Pokemon is knocked out by the first person's attack, they must promote before the other player declares an attack
- Prize cards work in reverse e.g. they are taken when your Pokemon are knocked out (e.g. if your mega Lucario gets knocked out, you take 3 prizes) & when you get to 0 you are out of the game.
- A team wins when both of your opponents are eliminated from the game!
